Each path begins with an orientation where you will learn our business from the bottom up. You’ll have mentors and feedback as you explore every aspect of Hajoca and our industry. We’ll ask a lot of you during the orientation period, but this is the best way to teach you everything you need to know about our company before you transition into more specialized roles. These programs require a commitment of up to four years and may require relocation while you complete your training at various Hajoca locations within your region.

We will consider all qualified applicants regardless of geographic location and will do our best to match the company’s needs with that of the trainees' geographic preference.

Recent Graduates

Management Development Program

You just graduated, now what? You’re probably used to the question “What are you going to do after college?” Hajoca has the answer, a career path to managing your own profit center. Our ideal candidates will have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrated leadership qualities, and general business skills.

Your training will take place over a four-year period and be structured in the following way:

  • Warehouse and Counter (9 months): You’ll gain a great foundation of the team and business in this phase. Time will be spent understanding, performing, and mastering the logistics of getting materials in and out of the business. In addition, you’ll work on the counter interacting with customers and learning product, spend time out in the field learning how products are applied, and visit other locations to see how they operate.
  • Inside Sales (9 months): You’ll learn to interact with our existing customers, provide solutions to their problems and develop relationships.
  • Outsides Sales (2 years): Here you’ll work to capture new accounts and grow existing accounts. You’ll become partners with them in their business as you develop relationships with them.
  • Leadership and Operations (6 months): This part of our program will focus on operations management and leadership training.

Once you’ve completed our program, you’ll be fully prepared to manage one of our profit centers, lead a team and experience financial freedom with uncapped financial success for you and your team. In this program you should be prepared to move at least once in the program, and again when you become a Profit Center Manager.

Sales and Operations Development Program

The Sales and Operations Development Program is for recent college graduates who are looking to pursue a long-term career in a customer facing role or an operations role. During the program, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a structured timeline that will allow us to understand and see your skill set and long-term career goals. We will allow you the freedom to live into your dreams by matching your passion, skill set, and long-term goals with the needs of the business.

The program consists of 2 phases:

  • Warehouse and Counter (9 months): You’ll gain a great foundation of the team and business in this phase. Time will be spent understanding, performing, and mastering the logistics of getting materials in and out of the business. In addition, you’ll start your customer interaction as you assist customers that come into the business each day to buy their material.
  • Account Management (9 months): You will serve as a primary contact for existing customers, providing solutions to their problems and bringing value to them and their business.

Once these 2 phases are complete, you’ll determine which part of the business you’d like to focus on, the customer or the operations. You and your Profit Center Manager will determine what additional training you’ll need to be successful in the area you choose and create a plan and timeline. In this program, you are hired on by an individual team and spend your career with that team.

Internship Program

The South Division of Hajoca has a 12-week paid rotational internship opportunity in a fast-paced environment. Interns will receive hands-on experience in every aspect of wholesale distribution and be coached by experienced mentors. The internship is spent in a profit center, learning the logistics and operations side of the business.

Summer Internship:

  • Warehouse and Counter (3 weeks): You’ll gain a great foundation of the team and business in this phase. Time will be spent understanding, performing, and mastering the logistics of getting materials in and out of the business. In addition, you’ll work on the counter interacting with customers and learning product, spend time out in the field learning how products are applied, and visit other locations to see how they operate.
  • Sales (5 weeks): Through riding alongside and outside sales teammate, spending time in our Showroom, and understanding on the job training with a local contractor, you’ll learn how we interact with our existing customers, provide solutions to their problems and develop relationships.
  • Special Project (4 weeks): This part of our program is to further test and hone your operational, sales, and service skills. While still under the supervision and instruction of your mentor, this project challenges you to think critically and solve real life problems faced everyday by industry professionals. The project will be assigned by the profit center manager and be applicable to the location and needs of the team.

Experienced Professionals

This path is designed for the experienced professional with a background in sales or leadership and looking to make a career and/or industry change. You will have a customized three-year development program exposing you to all parts of the business so you can be successful as a Profit Center Manager in our unique business model.

Your development program will consist of:

  • Warehouse and Counter (9 months): You’ll gain a great foundation of the team and business in this phase. Time will be spent understanding, performing, and mastering the logistics of getting materials in and out of the business. In addition, you’ll work on the counter interacting with customers and building product knowledge.
  • Inside & Outsides Sales (21 months): Here you’ll work to capture new accounts and grow existing accounts. You’ll become partners with them in their business as you develop relationships with them.
  • Leadership and Operations (6 months): This part of our program will focus on operations management and leadership training.

Throughout the program you will be supported by mentors who help you develop your areas of opportunity. You will also build lasting relationships with customers and team members at all levels. While this program requires some travel, we will do our best to work with you on a solution that will give you the best training in your area.

Junior Military Officers

We first and foremost want to thank you for your service to our country. We understand that transitioning from the military into the civilian workforce can be intimidating and frightful. It can also be challenging and exhilarating. At Hajoca we have a proven development program that will allow you to use the leadership and operations experience you have from the military as a springboard to a long and rewarding career with us.

Your development program will consist of:

The program is 39 months long and will eliminate any fear in your future as it will prepare you and set you up for success in our industry and with our business model.
